About Team:
Microbiology is a global department, comprises of teams located in Singapore, Indianapolis, Geneva and China. For this internship, the selected candidate will join members of the Microbiology Singapore team. Overall, Microbiology performed clinical trials and patient testing and reporting for various local and overseas clients.
Internship Assignment Summary:
- Perform assigned clinical laboratory testing accurately and in a timely manner, under the supervision of a qualified Technologist.
- Reagent, media, and inventory management.
- Successfully performs the specific department duties as set forth in the task list and/or department training checklist.
- Adheres to established Safety SOPs, and Universal Precaution guidelines at all times.
- Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment. Minimizes biohazard waste. Cleans workstation and materials daily.
- Demonstrates proficiency in applicable computer systems and software.
- Proper handling and testing of patient specimens and resolution of specimen issues.
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
- Job is performed in a Microbiology laboratory, dealing with patient specimens.
- Education: University undergraduate in Microbiology or in Biomedical Sciences.
- Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and hazardous chemicals.
