The role you’ll contribute:
Directly responsible for the management and oversight of daily operations of HIM for multiple facilities and clinics to include associate oversight and management, training, productivity management, system implementations and upgrades, budget completion and monitoring, problem-resolution, coordination and participation in regulatory readiness and survey activities as well as active oversight and management of forms creation, revisions and enterprise standardization.
Responsible for developing guidelines, policies and procedures for the department, in alignment with legal health record requirements and state/federal regulations. Actively supports Epic legal health record and other IT systems end users by collaborating with IT, physician trainers, and CI’s. Examines and re-engineer’s department procedures, and develops, implements, and monitors new strategies to improve associate/physician/patient satisfaction. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning. Develops, implements, and monitors new strategies to improve associate/physician/patient satisfaction.

Demonstrates compliance in health information management practices while adhering to policies and procedures, state and federal regulations (i.e. CMS, TJC, HIPAA, etc.) and accreditation standards.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups to include, but not limited to, staff, peers, administration, physicians, customers, vendors, and follow up in a timely manner.
Establish performance goals for all key metrics (e.g. ROI, Deficiency tracking, Delinquent Records, Scanning, Quality, Productivity etc.) with HIM Leadership and Group HIM Director in line with organizational priorities.
Ensure provider compliance with documentation aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
A minimum of 3-5 years of health information management experience in an acute care, health care setting.
2 year HIM supervisory/leadership experience required, or minimum of 1 year supervisory/leadership experience within AdventHealth HIM department.
Experience with an electronic health record, health information systems and health care applications.
Proficient in medical terminology.
High School Diploma or GED
Associate’s Degree (RHIT) or completion of a related healthcare degree program.
