SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for handling phone calls from the patients who are seeking medical information and/or medical attention. Undertake assessment of their health needs, with the aid of decision support software and give advice as appropriate in compliance with appropriate protocols. Schedule appointments, answer questions, and provide health education as required. Assists providers answering in-box messages and completing medication refill requests. Assists the practice site manager in maintaining clinical staff training files, staying abreast of education requirements for outpatient healthcare, and representing the practice in nurse-related councils and committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
Associate's degree in Nursing
Minimum two (2) years experience in Inpatient or Outpatient Cardiology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Prior Nurse Triage Experience a plus
