Phoenix Children’s CardioDiagnostics is seeking candidates for an experienced Fetal Cardiac Sonographer. We are excited to be expanding and are looking for someone with excellent imaging skills and confident clinical understanding to join our team.
The successful candidate will join a group of highly skilled sonographers that model teamwork, collaboration and dedication to their patients and teammates. They will be a part of an innovative clinical and educational program, representing our team in the community, nationally, and internationally at our Fetal Cardiology Symposium. Our growing fetal program performed over 1300 fetal echocardiograms last year and anticipates substantial growth in the near future. Our fetal cardiac sonographers work closely with the fetal cardiologists and nurse coordinators to ensure timely, high-quality exams and best outcomes. The fetal sonographer will also perform pediatric and adult congenital cardiac echocardiograms. The candidate will have opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and clinical time devoted to outpatient and inpatient care inclusive of fetal, pediatric, and adult congenital heart disease echocardiography.
Qualified applicants must have ARDMS RDCS FE and RDCS PE (or CCI’s RCCS) registry designations. Qualified candidates will have at least 6 years of full time pediatric cardiac sonography and at least 3 years of fetal echocardiography experience, as well as a proven track record of leadership. This person will be passionate about leading by example and will commit to being a leader on our team.
This position performs diagnostic cardiac sonography examinations with a sub-specialty in fetal cardiac sonography examinations, as well as cardiology procedures to provide data for diagnosis of disease and injuries in accordance with all applicable standards, regulation and licensing requirements. Maintains a close working relationship with fetal cardiologists and nurse coordinators.
Education
Graduation from a CAAHEP or ACCSC accredited cardiac sonography program or equivalent or 10 years experience in cardiac ultrasound. (Required)
Experience
6 years full time pediatric cardiac sonography. (Required)
3 years full time experience at Phoenix Children`s Hospital with proven leadership skills and regular contributions to department projects in addition to primary imaging responsibilities. External candidates must have a proven track record of leadership and commit to leadership activities upon completion of orientation. (Required)
6 months of experience in the Phoenix Children`s Hospital fetal cardiac program. (Preferred)
Endorsement from fetal echo physicians along with input from the medical directors (echo lab and fetal echo). (Required)
Certifications
ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Pediatric (RDCS PE) or CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS). (Required)
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association. (Required)
Membership to professional societies (ASE, SDMS, AIUM, etc). (Preferred)
Special Skills
Shares on call duties with peers after hours, on weekends and holidays. Works independently in satellite locations. (Required)
Demonstrates a willingness to be flexible with work assignments to balance work among staff. Must have readily available transportation to be able to change locations throughout the day for roving assignments with very little notice. (Required)
