24-hrs per week guaranteed (8 hour shifts); benefits eligible

More hours available throughout the year based upon staffing
Sun, Mon, Tue morning (arrive Saturday night 11:55 PM and work until 08:30 on Sunday, arrive Sunday night 11:55 PM and work until 08:30 Monday , arrive Monday night 11:55 PM and work until 08:30 Tuesday morn).
Primary duties:
Be on-premise and respond to on-call phone
Attend to emergent and urgent calls, round on ICUs
Qualifications:
M.Div. or similar required
4 units of CPE preferred; minimum of 1 unit of CPE

The Spiritual Care Services department is made up of four service lines: Chaplaincy, Chaplaincy Education, Palliative Care Consult Services and Ethics Committee support. Each of these service lines participates within the healthcare interdisciplinary teams at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with the goal of healing body, mind and spirit. Department personnel are comprised of Board Certified Professional Chaplains, Chaplain Director, ACPE Chaplain Supervisor, Chaplain Manager, Chaplain Residents, Contractual Chaplains, Medical Director and physician of Palliative Care Consult Services, Palliative Care Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, Administrative Assistants and medical, chaplaincy, social work, nursing students rotating through these services.

Role Purpose
Provides spiritual care, short term counseling, worship leadership, education and other religious support to patients, families and staff as members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Responsibilities
Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics.
Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others.
Contributes to the field of professional spiritual care by conducting and reporting research, publishing and providing workshops at professional meetings.
