The community you’ll be caring for:
Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units.
The new campus will include:
244,000 square feet
Capacity for 98 total beds (44 on opening and 54 slated for future expansion)
Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)
Operates radiation detection imaging equipment and administers radionuclides to patients. Checks quality of radionuclides purchased. Monitors contaminated articles to ensure that radioactivity is not spread to unaffected persons. Keeps a record of tests conducted, test results, use and disposition of radionuclide and body products containing radionuclide.

Rotates “on-call” status. · Orders supplies. · Performs other related duties as required and deemed necessary per Radiology Director. · Follows the AIDET model(Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation and Thank) · Follows “Standard of Behavior” guidelines per hospital policy. · Observes strict precautions in handling radionuclides to safeguard against over exposure to radiation. · Monitors contaminated articles and bed linens of patients using Geiger counter to insure that radioactivity is not spread to unaffected persons. · Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action. · Follows all Nuclear Medicine Policies/Procedures. · Operates Cerner proficiently, troubleshooting problems with orders and makes corrections within scope or user level. · Keep records of tests conducted, test results, and use and disposition of radionuclide and body products containing them. · Attend in-services and maintain continuing education requirements.. · Attends a minimum of 50% of scheduled department meetings and is accountable for obtaining information from missed meetings. · Operates Cerner System proficiently, trouble shoots problems with orders, and makes corrections within scope of user level. · Operates Dose Calibrator to measure concentration of radionuclides in specific body areas and body products to obtain information for use of physicians in diagnosing patient illnesses. · Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patient. · Operates Gamma cameras to measure radionuclide concentrations and to record visual representations of the radionuclide concentrations in specific body areas of the patient. · Provides patient transportation when needed. · Documents on communication white board and schedule log sheet.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · Associate’s Degree or Graduate of a Technical School EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: · Bachelor’s Degree · Up to 1 Year of Position-Related Experience ·
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: · ARRT in Nuclear Medicine ARRT (N) and/or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) · Kansas State License (LRT) · BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association · A new hire may begin employment provided the facility has the ability to facilitate the successful completion of the required AHA BLS program prior to any patient contact. This may be achieved using web-based training with voice-assisted manikin skills check off (ie: Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Program or Heartcode) or instructor-led training.
