The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS)/the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking an exceptional physician-candidate for the position of Chief of Neurology Service. The Chief will provide leadership of a large UCLA-affiliated VA department with recognized Centers of Excellence in Epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis, an affiliated PADRECC, and a nationally recognized Stroke Program. Department services include outpatient and inpatient care with particular strength in medical education, clinical reasoning, quality improvement, and health services research. The Chief serves as the Vice Chair of Department of Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with integrative leadership of the entire department. He/she provides leadership and direction to the educational and research missions within the Neurology Service. VAGLAHS and UCLA provide opportunities for collaborations with outstanding educators and researchers across disciplines.
Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO degree, be Board Certified, be a US Citizen, be qualified for appointment at the associate or full professor level at UCLA and have demonstrated administrative and leadership experience. The successful candidate should demonstrate clinical excellence, a commitment to education, and the ability to catalyze the growth of clinical and/or health services research. Candidates should have an outstanding record of academic accomplishments with national prominence and have proven leadership skills to attract, motivate, and direct a group of innovative and productive clinicians, researchers, and educators. Preference will be given to those candidates with a track record of scholarship and independent grant support.
Work Schedule: Mon-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (some flexibility considered)
Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Education: Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license
Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty
Must be Board Certified in Neurology

Competitive Salary Range: $325,000-$400,000, Final Salary determination within this range.
PTO:50–55 days of paid time off per year (26/13 days of annual/sick leave respectively, 11 holidays, up to 5 days paid absence for CME)
