While fellowship training in molecular pathology is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. To qualify for this position, you should be a board-certified pathologist, a physician in a specialty other than pathology, or a doctoral scientist with specialized training and/or relevant experience in molecular pathology. Experience in oncology molecular and cellular tumor markers, as well as virology for molecular methods, is required. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing is necessary. Clinical research experience and publication of work are preferred, along with expert knowledge of clinical testing processes and procedures. Experience in a laboratory would be a plus.
