Overview: The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing care delivery, care planning, hospital/partnership management, and key performance metrics within a geographic area or service line. This role includes managing daily operations, clinical processes, and procedures across multiple outpatient sites within the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network. The Director will ensure optimal clinical operations, focusing on quality care, patient safety, and efficient clinical processes across specialties and programs. The Director will also contribute to the development of new care models, specialties, and practice sites while ensuring high-quality care throughout the continuum of care.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the clinical operations and management of Cedars-Sinai Medical Network's owned and operated medical clinics, ensuring efficient operations, high service levels, and optimal performance.
Collaborate with medical and operational leadership to establish effective patient care processes and workflows, supporting quality and timely care.
Implement and monitor quality control programs in partnership with risk, quality, safety, and clinical leadership to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, professional standards, and licensure requirements.
Manage the fiscal responsibilities for assigned areas, including budget preparation, expense control, and revenue enhancement.
Proactively manage transitions, including moving to new clinical spaces or implementing new programs.
Drive clinical and operational performance by overseeing business and operational plans for assigned areas, services, and programs.
Serve as liaison between hospital leadership, clinical departments, and ancillary services to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
Promote best practices and standards across clinical services and departments in partnership with service line leadership.
Represent the organization in community relations and external engagements to enhance its image and reputation.
Collaborate with the Strategy and Business Development teams to create and execute market growth strategies, including new acquisitions and clinic implementations.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: High School Diploma/GED
Required: Bachelor?s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.
Preferred: Master?s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.
Experience:
Preferred: 2 years of orthopedic outpatient or ambulatory experience.
Minimum: 7 years of leadership experience in healthcare, with ambulatory clinic/medical office experience, preferably in a multi-specialty medical group setting. Experience in medical office management and billing is advantageous.
