The Clinical Dietitian plans, coordinates, and implements nutritional therapy services to promote health and manage disease of assigned populations.

·Collaborateswithphysicians,nursing,pharmacyandotherhealthcareteammembers/departmentstodetermine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy.
·Collaborateswithdepartmentalmanagementtoprovidenutritionallyappropriatemenus,foodoptions,andservices for patients and visitors.
·Developsandprovideseducation,training,consulting,andcounselingservicesthroughouttheorganizationandfor the community on topics including eating disorders, weight loss, and dietary modifications for healthy lifestyles.
·Performsallaspectsofpatientcareinanenvironmentthatoptimizespatientsafetyandreducesthelikelihoodof medical/health care errors.
·SupervisesNutritionalServicesTechnicianinconductingnutritionalscreeningandprovidingnutritionalcareto patients who are at low or moderate nutritional risk.
·Maintains accurate and continued documentation. Documentation meets current standards and policies.
·Applies principles of infection control procedures.
·Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary.
·Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare.
·Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in course work approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
Required Licenses:
Must have current and valid Mississippi licensure in Dietetics
Required Certifications:
Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) certification as Registered Dietitian (RD)
Required Skills:
Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work.

·Basic computer knowledge; become proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
·Must possess knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of word processing, email, electronic medical records (EMR), information systems and other similar software as required.
·Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
·Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
·Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of six (6) months' experience in Acute Care, Behavioral Health & Long-Term Care settings preferred.
