Job Summary:
With guidance, leads a team in resource planning, product and services design, and operations and monitoring to meet the strategic direction and priorities of the department. With guidance, develops and ensures compliance with standards and processes for products and services. Acts as a liaison to business managers to ensure products deliver value and meet business expectations. Helps lead product managers in analyzing market for new product and service trends, capabilities and scalability. Focuses on learning core management skills and policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Managing IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, assigning projects/tasks, and monitoring performance.
* Ensures staff alignment with mission and strategic plan
* Ensures staff compliance with budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies.
* Ensures that projects stay on track and regularly communicates status to department leadership and business/operational leaders.
* Regularly review/implement advances in technology and industry best practices.
* Assists with preparation of operating and capital budgets following established guidelines and using benchmark data.

VUMC IT provides hardware, software and service solutions for the entire Medical Center. With over 40,000 workstations in the Medical Center, our teams can assist not only with hardware support, but also software and application support and services to enhance security and protection of your information.
