Job Summary:
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at our Heritage location in Wake Forest, NC.
Perform telephone and electronic medical record triage; provide medical advice and refill requests, schedule appointments, review lab results and treat patients per protocols under the supervision of medical providers
Order clinic supplies, complete insurance and FMLA forms, complete requests for prior authorizations, abstract patient charts.
Assist the physician during the examination and procedures. Perform Non Stress Tests under the direct supervision of physicians.
Collect/prepare laboratory specimens; perform Point of Care laboratory tests
Sterilize medical instruments using High Level Disinfection and Autoclave as appropriate
Review medical and surgical instructions with patients and/or caregivers, and document in patient record.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers. Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care and serve as a team leader
Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources
Support the development of other staff and formal learners. Participate in the identification of clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
12 months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
Obstetrics and or gynecology experience preferred.
Job Hours:
This hours for this position are day shift, Monday through Friday with no evenings, weekends or Duke scheduled holidays.
