Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Organ Transplant Inpatient (Nights)

Hackensack University Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with the transplant surgery team on the night shift.The Transplant Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Ideal candidate would have prior inpatient surgical practice experience, preferably nephrology experience.
Highlights
- Full-time, nights & weekends as needed
- Provide Inpatient Transplant Patient coverage
- Schedule is flexible however probable schedule is (3) 13.5 hr shifts/week
- Work with a team of specialized surgeons and physician assistants
- 24/7 Coverage needed with flexible shifts Evening, Nights & Weekends
- Primarily Inpatient care, some Outpatient office coverage
- Orientation period 3-6mos
- Primarily Kidney and some Pancreas transplants
- Conduct histories and physicals on transplant candidates
- Provide pre and post-surgical care
- Collaborate with nephrologists in dialysis planning
- Orders lab work and tests in accordance with national standards
- Provides education and support to patients and families.
