Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
Our research team is focused on improving the health of families by implementing behavioral health interventions in community settings. Our team is conducting a 5-year clinical trial to develop and test an adaptation-science approach to scale-out our previously tested obesity intervention, COACH.
We are looking for an experienced health coach who can be responsible for curriculum development and helping to set up the adaption framework. This coach will help to train and certify local community leaders across middle Tennessee to deliver the intervention with high fidelity. Content expertise is required in health coaching around healthy living, healthy nutrition, physical activity, sleep, parenting, and use of built environment. Experience in research is preferred, as the health coach will also be responsible for adhering to study protocols, monitoring fidelity of the intervention, and working as a part of the study team to successfully implement all phases of the study. Our research group flourishes because of a supportive team environment, so working as a part of a team is an essential component of this job. Because we work to meet families and community leaders where they are, trainings and intervention sessions will primarily take place on nights or weekends in the local community context, which will require scheduling flexibility for the health coach.

Key Functions and Expected Performances:
Train community leaders to deliver health coaching curriculum for families around diet, physical activity, sleep, media use, and parenting.
Facilitate small-group coaching sessions for community leaders and parents with children, as needed.
Conduct health coaching over the phone or using virtual platforms when needed
Adhere to study protocols around intervention implementation, including fidelity monitoring
Lead a group of research assistants who will be responsible for assisting in intervention delivery.
Work well with other team members, including adhering to professional communication standards.
Interventionists should be organized and self-directed.
Interventionists must have reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
MPH or PhD preferred. A background in Health Behavior/Health Education, Nutrition, or Exercise Physiology is required. Experience working with children and adults is required.
A minimum of 24 months of experience in these areas is preferred. Experience in health communication skills such as motivational interviewing and shared goal setting is preferred as is experience working with underserved populations.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time position; 40 hours per week; will include some evenings and weekends.
Some heavy lifting is required.
Salary is dependent upon years of education and experience
