General Description
Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehab with direct responsibility for all exercise requirements indicated in cardiac rehab state license, AAVCPR national and ACSM guidelines.
Job Duties:
Meet the knowledge and skillset outlined in the core competencies for Cardiac Rehabilitation professionals guidelines based on AACVPR's guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, patient assessment, nutritional/physical activity counseling, education on smoking cessation, and management of the following: diabetes, blood pressure, weight, lipids. Candidate will need to also be able to provide psychosocial support to patients, as they are dealing with life changing events.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education:
Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science. Bachelor's degree plus ACSM-CEP accepted.
Level I: ACLS required (must obtain within 6 months of hire date); ACSM certification as Exercise Physiologist, Health Fitness instructor, Group Exercise Instructor, or Personal Trainer (must obtain within 6 months of hire date).
Stay current with certifications and attend continuing education events.
Review current research and update materials as needed
A high level of professionalism and knowledge of exercise programming is required.
