Schedule: Monday – Friday  

Shift:  Flexible 8 hour shift from 7:30AM – 5:30PM; 40 hours a week

The role you’ll contribute:

The Sr Surgery Scheduler will serve as the primary resource to the unit charge nurse and team leads for scheduling related questions and conflicts.  Assist with planning, organizing and carrying out activities in the area of surgery scheduling and block utilization.  The Sr Surgery Scheduler will assist in meeting departmental goals in accordance to the hospital strategic plan.  Will assist the department manager and educator in leading out with continued education for fellow associates related to the scheduling process.  The Sr Surgery Scheduler will also fulfill the duties for the Surgery Scheduler position.  The Sr Surgery Scheduler is responsible for accurate scheduling of surgical procedures for the operating room.  S/he inputs patient’s financial and demographic information for registration

The value you’ll bring to the team:

·         Serves as the primary resource for the unit charge nurse and team leads for surgery related questions or strategies.

·         Assist the unit manager and unit educator in education initiatives related to the training of new associates in the process of case scheduling.

·         Works closely with physician offices to ensure accurate and convenient scheduling of surgical cases.

·         Coordinates patient arrival times and other pertinent information with ancillary departments, including but not limited to pre-surgery clinic, ACC, PACU and Radiology.
