Position Summary:
The NP/PA – Pulmonary provides patient care in the Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic, delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. The NP formulates treatment plans that include psychosocial support, health education, and counseling. Responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic tests, developing individualized care plans, and educating patients on disease management and prevention strategies. The NP collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and employs evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.
Demonstrated expertise in pulmonary disease diagnosis, assessment, intervention, and management for adult patients.
Experience with diagnostic measures such as pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, and thoracic imaging.
Knowledge of scope of practice and regulations for nurse practitioners
Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal/written)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Independent clinical decision-making and leadership skills
Current California Nurse Practitioner certification
Master’s degree in Nursing with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant healthcare experience
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Evidence of continuing education and self-development
DEA certification
Preferred:
Pulmonary Specialty Certification
Experience in an outpatient pulmonary or respiratory care setting
