SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Hybrid after initial training period. 3 days in office per month and remote for the remainder of the month beginning in January.
Responsible for the end to end management of purchase orders, this role performs a variety of duties to purchase material, equipment and supplies according to established, University, Health System and Hospital policies and procedures. Key functions of this role include: returns/credit memo processing, actively monitoring open purchase orders, working Accounts Payable exceptions and accurate price administration. With the guiding principles of cost, quality, delivery for the right item at the right time, the Buyer will partner with the Contract Portfolio Specialist in which they align. Role will perform all activities according to department policies and procedures and will ensure appropriate sourcing through the GPO partner. The role will also be responsible for assisting in developing sourcing strategies and ensuring alignment to GPO affiliate sourcing strategies, projects and initiatives within commodities and will participate in merger and acquisition activities as well.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or equivalent experience plus two to four years of experience or Bachelors Degree in a health related specialty, business administration, supply chain or closely related field required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Proficiency and knowledge demonstration as it relates to Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, Database Systems required
Analytical and problem solving skills required
Strong verbal and written communication skills required Ability to work independently and in teams at times Track record of cost savings and providing value to organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ERP knowledge Lawson preferred CPM, CMRP, CPSM, RN or other material management and purchasing certifications preferred Multi-facility Health system sourcing and contracting background preferred
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business preferred Prior expertise in various area of commodity responsibilities such as Cath Lab, Laboratory, Purchase Services, Medical, Surgical and Business services preferred
